Divide and Conquer
“But He, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.” Luke 11:17 (KJV)
This phrase is attributed to Philip II, king of Macedon (382-336 BC), describing his policy toward the Greek city-states.
The strategy includes:breaking up power alliances into smaller chunks that are easier to subdue/manage – preventing small power groups from linking up and becoming more powerful.
Satan has long known the need to divide the powerful people of God in order to wreak havoc and take advantage of our human nature. He has made a habit of dividing churches, families and even an individual’s mind to prevent God’s plans and promises from coming into fruition. The enemy is well versed in creating offenses in our minds, to give us a nudge… the rest is our doing. Paul reminds us in II Corinthians that we should not allow Satan to take “advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices”. Knowing that – we should consider the source of confusion, anger and deception.
Our homes, churches and minds are valued treasures that the enemy would steal, kill and destroy with no remorse.
Don’t allow Satan to ruin your relationships, it far too easy to say “enough, no more” in the world of today – but I’ve subscribe to the philosophy that ‘you appreciate, value and take care of those things that cost you’.
My family, my church and my mind has cost me something and I can not allow the enemy to divide and conquer. It is time we see Satan for what he really is, a toothless, powerless, instigator! Hold fast to your loved ones. It is not time to allow ourselves to be caught snoozing, there’s a war going on
