9There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? 10And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. 12When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. 13Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.” John 6:9 – 13 (KJV)

“In Preparation For A Miracle”

Most people know the story of Jesus multiplying the five loaves and two small fishes to the feeding of five thousand. However, did you ever stop to think about the preparation in order for that miracle to occur? There was a mother, father or even the young lad himself that prepared that lunch without the thought it would be used by the Master to feed a hungry crowd.  Yet whomever prepared that lunch, did so with care, anticipating the child’s need throughout the day.

As people of influence you do not know what your small meal, prepared for a young lad, may be used for. It could be that a child’s talent would be ignited by your passion or creativity which will impact thousands.  It could be that hope is kindled by a child living in hopelessness as he/she sits listening to your inspiring words.  A child’s destiny can be changed by a simple gesture of kindness and compassion.  Jesus fed the multitude all because of preparation made by caring, loving hands and a lad willing to share. Each day you prepare your lesson, remember the multitudes can be affected by what you place in lunch boxes the children you influence.
