13And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not received the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”

Mark 10:14 (KJV)

“You are Entrusted”

The excitement of the gospel compelled the crowd to bring their children to Jesus for a touch that only the Master could give. His loving words, compassion and Spirit lead the people to entrust Christ with their little ones expecting that He would ‘touch’ their lives and leave His mark. What a responsibility and yet what a privilege to have the opportunity to touch a child’s life.

Although the disciples thought the Master was too busy for these little ones He reminded them that their innocent, trusting and absorbing spirits is what the Kingdom of Heaven requires for admittance.

As we go forth touching lives of the children that we have been entrusted with, we must be mindful of the impressions we leave on these moldable hearts and minds. Leave your mark of compassion, loving words and tender spirits to the little ones sitting, waiting to hear from you. A mark only you can leave and a touch that you have been entrusted to give.
